National Insurance Company Limited is India’s Oldest General Insurance Company. It was incorporated in Kolkata, West Bengal on December 5, 1906 to fulfil the nationalist aspiration for Swaraj. 66 years later, after passing of General Insurance Business Nationalisation Act in 1972, it was merged along with 21 foreign and 11 Indian companies to form National insurance Company Limited, one of the four subsidiaries of the General Insurance Corporation of India, fully owned by Govt. of India. Under the provisions of this Act, the shares of existing Indian general insurance companies and undertaking of other insurers were transferred to GIC for the regulation and control of insurance business.

ii. Emoluments: Total Gross emoluments works out to approximately Rs.53,000/- per month in the initial stage in a Metro city. Other Allowance may vary depending upon the place of posting. Apart from allowances, other benefits such as Lump sum Domiciliary Medical Benefit, Membership of Group Mediclaim Policy for Reimbursement of Hospitalization expenses, Leave Travel Subsidy and other Staff welfare schemes would be as per the rules of the Company.
SELECTION PROCESS :-
The Selection process will consist of online tests (Preliminary and Main Examination). Thereafter, candidates qualifying the Main examination will be further shortlisted for Regional Language Test.
Phase-I: Preliminary Examination
Preliminary Examination consisting of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) for 100 marks will be conducted online. This test would be of 60 minutes duration consisting of 3 sections (with separate timings for each section) as follows:
1. English Language - 30 Marks - 20 minutes
2. Reasoning Ability - 35 Marks - 20 minutes
3. Quantitative Aptitude - 35 Marks - 20 minutes
Phase – II: Main Examination online
Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests (Multiple Choice type Questions) for 200 marks. The duration of examination would be of 120 minutes duration
(separate time for each test / section) and will consist of 5 sections as follows
1. Test of Reasoning - 40 Questions - 40 Marks - 35 min
2. Test of English Language - 40 Questions - 40 Marks - 30 min
3. Test of Numerical Ability - 40 Questions - 40 Marks - 30 min
4. Test of Computer Knowledge - 40 Questions - 40 Marks - 15 min
5. Test of General Awareness - 40 Questions - 40 Marks - 15 min
REGIONAL LANGUAGE TEST :-
Candidates shortlisted in the online Main Examination will subsequently be called for Regional Language Test to be conducted by the Company, at select
centres. The name and address of the Centre, time & date of this test will be informed to the shortlisted candidates on our website. Candidates applying for
vacancy under State / UT other than their domiciled State / UT, have to appear and qualify the Regional Language Test in the language of State / UT for which they have applied.
