JOB DESCRIPTION :-

We are seeking a detail-oriented Direct Tax Professional to join our dynamic tax team. This role will involve overseeing and managing direct tax matters, with a focus on withholding taxes, tax audits and tax technology. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of tax compliance, regulations, and technology, and will play a key role in ensuring withholding tax compliance within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

1.    Withholding Taxes:

o   Oversee the calculation, compliance, and reporting of withholding taxes on various payments, including domestic and international transactions.

o   Ensure timely and accurate withholding tax filings and remittances in accordance with local and international tax laws.

o   Advise internal stakeholders on withholding tax implications for cross-border transactions, including the application of tax treaties and exemptions.

o   Review contracts, payment terms, and vendor relationships to ensure proper withholding tax treatment.

2.    Tax Audit:

o   Support the preparation for and management of direct tax audits, liaising with tax authorities and external auditors.

o   Respond to tax authority inquiries and manage the submission of relevant documentation for audits and tax reviews.

o   Proactively identify areas for improvement in compliance and risk management in response to audit findings.

o   Coordinate with legal and accounting teams to ensure appropriate documentation and records are maintained for audit purposes.

3.    Additional Responsibilities:

o   Monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and judicial rulings affecting withholding taxes, direct taxes, and tax audits, and ensure company policies remain compliant.

o   Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless tax compliance and planning.

o  Prepare and review direct tax filings, ensuring timely submission and accuracy of information.

o   Assist in tax planning initiatives to optimize the company’s overall tax position.

o   Provide guidance and training to junior staff on tax processes and compliance matters.

o   Evaluate emerging technologies to improve the tax function, focusing on automation, data accuracy, and efficiency.
