Reinsurance Financial Accounting Technical provides accounting and reporting services for Property and Casualty (P&C) and Life and Health (L&H) segments within the Business Unit Reinsurance.
The PER (Planning and Early Reporting) Controlling team in Bangalore within the Financial Accounting Technical department, is responsible for calculations, sub-ledger (PER) bookings, checks on P&C business and validation of relevant attributes and patterns. The team works globally, focusing on common processes to gain economies of scale in operations. The team performs various control checks on a quarterly basis to ensure correctness of the subledger. The main focus of the team is on Asia and America markets. PER controlling team has another team in Bratislava which caters mainly to EMEA market, both teams closely work together and collaborate for alignment of activities across the globe.
This position in the Finance Reinsurance Accounting & Reporting and includes tasks and responsibilities in many areas of Financial Controlling within a highly fast-paced business environment. The role covers the global Property & Casualty Reinsurance business.
As a member of the Financial Controlling team you will ensure delivery of high-quality data and analysis, to enable effective business performance steering. In your role, you will also support the Business Controllers in Asia and America in preparing quarterly financial reports in an accurate, timely and efficient manner, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.
- Ensure complete and correct technical income statements in compliance with internal guidelines and control requirements.
- Provide support and guidance for efficient budgeting and disclosure through assigned system entries (Swiss Re proprietary PER tool).
- Ensure adequate clarity on financial developments in the region, ensuring documented audit trail in line with internal control standards
- Supporting preparation of quarterly reporting packages under various accounting valuations with underlying trends / issues identified for presentation to senior management, including preparation of presentations
- Find opportunities to improve productivity and/or simplify data validation/processes, take personal leadership to make a proposal and initiate implementation
- Undertake specific financial projects and ad hoc activities as required by the business
- Deputize other team members during their absences
- Establishes strong working relationship with our key business partners and act as a strong team member
