Manage projects across GST Advisory, litigation and transactional compliance also with the erstwhile Indirect tax laws. Assistance in developing innovative business solutions for clients and endeavour should be to maintain long lasting relationships.
Position Purpose
Market/ Client
- Build profitable practice with minimum hours clocked on a client in agreement with the team.
- Deliver consistent client/Partner delight
- Manage service tax / VAT / GST audits / assessments across states
- Provide litigation support; attending tax hearings before various authorities
- Advise clients on various matters relating to indirect taxes such as GST, Customs Duty, Foreign Trade Policy
- Assist in practice management with respect to billing. Representing clients at Departments/ Appellate
- Assist in identifying new clients for the practice
- Ensure better connect with individuals to build collaborative relationships to enable firm wide growth
- Minimum utilization should be clocked at 70% at all times. Prioritising work and managing work schedules.
- Mining opportunities from existing clientele
- Feedback from Client Service Reviews (CSR) - > 80% very good & excellent and <3% negative feedback
- Review of MIS to ensure timely billing, collections, debtors, WIP
- Play an active role in assisting PD group in proposals.
- Build connect at informal settings with peer group across the firm to collaborate and partner in future. Actively attend industry events for networking
- Deliver high quality client work in light of changing regulatory environment
- Ensure compliance with risk management requirements
- Identify the use of tax technology in client deliverables

- Work closely with ICOE throughout the year seeking support on compliance matters and reviewing tasks
- Proactively engage to understand and undertake responsibilities on work requirements, budgets, deadlines, past milestones, risk areas and previous client experiences before starting an engagement
- Focus on continuous improvement and up-skilling to enhance operational efficiency.
- Identification of additional and different billing opportunities to engagement managers to become operationally effective
- Reduction of lockup and timely recovery of payables from clients
- Track number of projects completed before the committed / budgeted charge hours
- Awareness about internal & external regulatory / independence requirements and strict compliance to the same
- Actively enhance relationships with KPMG Alumni to help build the firm’s brand
- Willingness to contribute to the firm’s community / CSR related initiatives
- Develop fresh/bold ideas or solutions to help firm emerge as a leader in innovation.
- Fulfil the firm's objective of being a trusted business advisor by communicating with the clients effectively and inculcating the firm's core values in day to day business operations.
- Completion of all risk / independence related training on time
- Attend various alumni connect in a year to seek new learning and growth opportunities
- Share observations with the PM and exercise caution w.r.t personal independence breaches / violation of code of conduct / company policies at any point in time
- Ensure participation/support to PM in at least one large scale initiative/project per quarter thereby providing innovative solutions to the client
