JOB DESCRIPTION :-

To provide comprehensive financial support and business partnering to manufacturing operations, R&D and SBUs, with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, cost control, profitability analysis, inventory and working capital management, pricing/margin analysis, and management reporting.

The role will partner with manufacturing, commercial, sales, marketing, R&D and business leadership teams to drive cost efficiency, profitability improvement and informed financial decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Lead annual budgeting and periodic forecasting for manufacturing plants, R&D and assigned SBUs.
  • Develop cost, revenue and profitability projections.
  • Monitor key financial assumptions and business drivers.
  • Coordinate with plant and business leadership to ensure realistic and actionable budgets.
  • Conduct scenario planning and sensitivity analysis.

2. Manufacturing Cost Control:

  • Analyze Budget vs. Actual performance across manufacturing operations.
  • Review production cost trends and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Analyze manufacturing overheads, including:
  • Repairs & Maintenance
  • Consumables
  • Manpower Costs
  • Utilities
  • Other Plant Expenses
  • Prepare and review detailed utility and manufacturing cost MIS.
  • Drive accountability for cost control across functions.

3. Capacity Utilization & Idle Cost Analysis:

  • Monitor plant capacity utilization and operational efficiency.
  • Calculate and report idle capacity costs and under-absorption of overheads.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies impacting product cost and profitability.
  • Provide financial insights for capacity and resource optimization.

4. Inventory & Working Capital Management:

  • Monitor inventory levels, ageing, slow-moving/non-moving inventory and inventory turns.
  • Review inventory valuation and provisioning requirements.
  • Support initiatives for inventory optimization and working capital improvement.
  • Analyze inventory-related financial impact on business profitability.

5. SBU & Business Performance Analysis:

  • Analyze business performance by product, customer, geography, country and SBU.
  • Monitor revenue, volume, gross margin, contribution margin and profitability trends.
  • Prepare actionable financial insights for business leadership.
  • Support monthly business reviews and management presentations.

6. Pricing & Margin Management:

  • Analyze product-wise and market-wise pricing trends.
  • Monitor gross margin and contribution margin movements.
  • Support pricing decisions and profitability improvement initiatives.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of pricing, volume, product mix and cost changes.

7. Profitability Analysis:

  • Prepare customer-wise, country-wise, product-wise and SBU-wise profitability analysis.
  • Identify key profitability drivers and improvement opportunities.
  • Support product portfolio optimization.
  • Conduct financial evaluation of new products, customers and markets.

8. Selling & Marketing Cost Management:

  • Monitor selling and marketing expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Conduct Budget vs. Actual analysis.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities while supporting business growth.
  • Provide financial insights to sales and marketing teams.

9. R&D Cost Monitoring:

  • Track project-wise R&D expenditure.
  • Monitor R&D budgets and utilization.
  • Allocate costs to relevant projects/business segments.
  • Support project profitability and investment analysis.

10. Fixed Assets, Capex & SAP:

  • Ensure accurate capitalization of fixed assets in SAP.
  • Review depreciation accounting and related controls.
  • Monitor Capex against approved budgets.
  • Support post-investment reviews and assess financial returns on major investments.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of relevant SAP FI/CO transactions and reports.

11. Management Reporting & MIS:

  • Prepare monthly Manufacturing, SBU and Business Finance MIS.
  • Develop dashboards and management reports covering:
  • Revenue & Volume
  • Manufacturing Cost
  • Gross & Contribution Margin
  • Inventory & Working Capital
  • Capacity Utilization
  • Overheads
  • Selling & Marketing Expenses
  • SBU Profitability
  • Provide variance analysis and actionable recommendations to management.
  • Support monthly/quarterly business review presentations.
