JOB DESCRIPTION :-
- Full ownership of product/process costing for all items manufactured at the plant raw material, labour, and overhead cost components.
- Works closely with production, stores, purchase, and quality teams to capture real-time cost and consumption data.
- Acts as the finance team's representative on the shop floor for all costing, inventory valuation, and budgetary control matters.
- Supports management decision-making on pricing, make-vs-buy, capex, and cost-reduction initiatives through reliable cost data.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain standard costs, cost sheets, and product costing for all SKUs/products manufactured at the unit.
- Track actual material, labour, and overhead costs against standards/budgets; investigate and report variances to management.
- Conduct periodic physical verification of inventory (raw material, WIP, finished goods) and reconcile with book stock.
- Value closing stock (RM, WIP, FG) accurately each month for financial statements and ensure correct inventory accounting.
- Analyse wastage, scrap, and process losses; recommend cost-control and efficiency-improvement measures to plant management.
- Prepare monthly cost MIS, profitability reports, and product/segment-wise margin analysis for the management team.
- Assist in preparation of plant budgets and periodic forecasts; monitor actual spend against approved budgets.
- Maintain cost records as required under the Companies (Cost Records and Audit) Rules and support statutory cost audit.
- Coordinate with internal/statutory/cost auditors and ensure timely, accurate closure of audit queries.
- Ensure costing data and processes comply with company policy and applicable accounting/costing standards.
