JOB DESCRIPTION :-
We are seeking a detail-oriented Cost Accountant to take ownership of fleet operating costs and vendor invoice management. The primary objective of this role is to track cost per kilometre, monitor fuel and maintenance efficiency, and ensure accuracy in all vendor invoices before processing payments.
Fleet Costing & Analysis
- Develop and maintain detailed cost models for each vehicle, including fuel, maintenance, tyres, driver wages, insurance, and depreciation.
- Calculate and report key performance indicators such as Cost Per Kilometre (CPK) and fuel efficiency (KMPL).
- Analyze variances between actual costs and budgeted or standard benchmarks.
Invoice Verification & Control
- Perform three-way matching for all logistics-related invoices, including fuel bills, tolls, spare parts, and outsourced fleet services.
- Verify trip sheets against GPS data and fuel logs to prevent overbilling or discrepancies.
- Reconcile vendor statements and manage disputed invoices efficiently.
Process Improvement
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in route planning, fuel consumption, and maintenance schedules.
- Audit internal records to ensure compliance with company transport policies and procedures.
Reporting
- Prepare monthly fleet profitability reports with actionable insights.
- Support the annual budgeting process for the logistics function.
