Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan), AYJNISHD(D) was established on 9th August 1983. It is an autonomous organization under the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan), Government of India, New Delhi and is located at Bandra (West), Mumbai. It is an approved Science & Technology Institute of Govt. of India.
Regional Centres of the institute have been established in Kolkata (1984), New Delhi (1986), Secunderabad (1986) and Bhubaneshwar (1986 in association with the Government of Odisha. These are centres aimed at meeting local and regional needs in terms of manpower development and services for speech and hearing disabilities. Regional Centre in New Delhi was shifted to Noida in 2015 and the Regional Centre at Bhubaneswar was shifted to Janla in 2008. The Center is now functioning under the administrative control of AYJNISHD( D) since February 2006.

The Demand Draft (Non–refundable) of Rs. 300/- (Rupees Three Hundred only) per post / per person drawn in favour of The Director, Ali Yavar Jung National Institute of Speech & Hearing Disabilities (Divyangjan) payable at Mumbai and should be submitted along with the application. Separate application should be submitted for each post. The candidate should clearly mention the name & post applied for on the back side of Demand Draft. No fee is prescribed for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories applying for direct recruitment posts.
SELECTION PROCESS :-
Recruitment of Group ‘B’ direct recruitment posts shall be done on the following
procedures:
01. Written Test (Objective / Multiple Choice Questions) - 80%
02. Desirable Qualification - 10%
03. Desirable Experience - 10%
The Director AYJNISHD(D) reserves the right to call candidates for an interview, if deemed necessary. In such cases, the weightage assigned to the written test and interview shall be 60% & 20% respectively. The weightage allocated to desirable qualifications and experience shall remain unchanged.
