VACANCY DETAILS :-
Senior Staff Accountant will provide technical expertise and will perform more complex business analysis work that supports India HEX product cost monitoring and NPI financial process. Additionally, this position will:
- Developing in-depth understanding of the entire business function of the organization and understand how finance impacts operations.
- Should have advanced knowledge on manufacturing accounting, product costing and variance analysis. Responsible to ensure accurate product costs for HEX models, various components of product costs are analyzed, and timely reporting is made to fix responsibility and accountability on operations, purchasing and supply chain teams.
- Have a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business and cost & accounting practices. Systems and procedures.
- Able to quickly learn and perform on complex/demanding business requirements with short lead time. Should follow process and ensure sufficient documentation is maintained for the functions performed.
- Lead NPI financial & sourcing studies projects and partner with process teams to ensure financials reflect fairly and assist in decision making. Exhibit cross functional leadership to influence other teams to work together to ensure success of New product launch.
- Equipped with advanced knowledge on cash flow, NPV/IRR calculations and guide team members to analyses the results.
- Apply cost & accounting knowledge and provide guidance on related issues.
- Capable to handle adhoc / immediate complex business requirements at short notice. Able to guide and support other team members by knowledge sharing, prioritization/ breakdown of activities.
- Familiar with OPACC calculation methodology, has ability to provide business analysis to support decision making for regional production manager base on OPACC.
Main job responsibilities include:
- Product Cost monitoring/Margin Monitor
- India NPI financial Analysis, and presentation to various stakeholders.
- Coordination of cash flow analysis of NPI projects, gathering information, such as price, volume assumption, projected R&D, capital investment and product cost.
- Organization of meetings in and out of the organization to resolve issues and for smooth communication.
- OPACC analysis for India HEX product.
- Accountable forecast and actual analysis of India NPI and strategy team.
- Machine & components sourcing analysis in India market.
We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our Analytics COE - Costing and NPI.
The incumbent would be performing staff accounting functions that support business processes and provide experience with Caterpillar accounting practices.
Job Roles and Responsibilities
From the outset, incumbent will be expected to be a contributing performer, doing staff level accounting work that supports business processes.
Additionally, this position will:
- Gain an understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems, and procedures.
- Learn and develop skills which result from the practical application of basic accounting knowledge, and
- Provide assistance to a project team or others in the work group.
Accountants will be exposed to a variety of accounting functions and will accomplish a high level of compilation and basic analysis work, reviewing clerical input and generating reports. The accountant identifies relevant data and data sources, gathers and analyses the information, and provides feedback. Typically, decisions will impact relatively low risk issues and will be reviewed by a supervisor. A supervisor will direct work, but this position does not require close supervision to be effective.
Possible areas of responsibility are varied, including:
- Cost system maintenance
- Normals & machine rate development
- Abnormals identification & reporting
- Prime product and/or component cost monitoring & analysis
- Operations and/or product group budgeting and expense analysis
- Capital expenditure forecasting and reporting
- Standard and current cost grief resolution
- Support management with analysis for decision making in various projects and cost reduction programs
- New product Introduction (NPI) comprehensive support which includes determining discounted cash flow (DCF) and Internal rate of return of different projects
- The variety of accounting tasks ranges from low to medium complexity. Interaction outside the workgroup is typically with peers. As the Accountant gains experience, he/she will develop a technical understanding of more complex accounting issues and expand their decision-making capability.
- Accountants will continuously learn through training and experience. Learning at this level will focus on methods, processes and systems applied to accounting, developing communications skills and building knowledge of Caterpillar’s businesses, products, suppliers and customers.
